KRIO — KUDAY Remote IO

NO-CODE hardware modules that interface field equipment with business and industrial computer platforms.

The KUDAY Remote IO series of modules are designed to work seamlessly with the KUDAY Server, various PLCs and most MES systems.

KRIO modules are ideal for distributed environments, remote facilities, or scenarios where real-time local control is critical.

KRIO common features include:

- Web Configuration Interface
- Cable and Wireless Ethernet
- Direct Communication with Allen Bradley, Siemens and Mitsubishi PLCs
- Event Configuration for Communication and Updates
- Web Service Host and Client
- MQTT Publish and Subscribe
- Modbus TCP Master and Slave Simultaneously
- Internal Variable Database
- TCP Sockets

Edge
Computing

Processes and filters data at the source, reducing network load and ensuring fast local response.

Reliable Remote Communication

Enables stable data exchange between remote equipment and central systems via standard protocols.

Hardware-Independent Flexibility

Deployable on various platforms and networks, supporting protocols like RS232, RS422, RS485, TCP/IP, web services and Modbus.

Seamless
Integration

Communicates effortlessly with other KRIO satellite modules and central services, enabling synchronized variable updates and work order execution.

KRIO Configuration Interface

The KRIO Configuration Interface is a comprehensive, browser-based interface designed to setup, manage, and monitor a KRIO device. When connected to a network, each KRIO module can be accessed directly through its IP address, launching a user-friendly configuration portal. This portal provides operators, engineers, and integrators with a powerful tool to quickly deploy devices, manage communication parameters, and adapt logic behavior without the need for additional software installation.

Embedded Event Management

KRIO devices are equipped with an event management engine that allows users to define custom routines and triggers directly from the web platform. For instance, users can create rules such as: “If data is received from a source with specific content, send a digital output signal” or “If temperature exceeds a threshold, send a message to an upstream controller.” This logic is stored and executed on the device itself, eliminating the need for external control systems and enabling rapid response to on-site events.

Smart Configuration for Seamless Integration

Within the platform, users can configure each KRIO device to match specific industrial environments and communication protocols. The device supports serial and digital I/O mapping, protocol settings, bus termination control, and signal routing. All configuration changes are applied in real time and saved directly to the device’s local memory, ensuring persistence across restarts and network fluctuations. This flexibility allows KRIO to function as a reliable data bridge or edge interface in complex automation systems.

Comprehensive Logging & Alert Framework

Every KRIO module maintains a detailed log of operational events, communication activity, and rule executions. These logs can be accessed through the web portal for audit, diagnostics, or root-cause analysis. If, for example, an expected data stream from a connected device suddenly stops, KRIO will log the time, duration, and nature of the failure.
